While it would be a very complex and long command string, I believe a bot could be programmed to solo trap stygian veil.

I just take 3-4 basic salvage kits(300-400g, or free from collectors), but a merchant would be a nice addition as well. The amount of gold I lose by salvaging drops is negligible(artisans and material traders ftw), and it turns 3-4 slots in my inventory into 75-100.

If botting/farming is a concern, the merchant could be enabled only upon quest completion within each area, similar to how the Forgemaster in FoW is now.

It would, but I don't see it as worth the time for programmers, since there are easier botting sites.

I end up salvaging stuff just so I don't lose the total value.

i dont like the rich getting richer whilst the poor are getting poorer

Besides quite a few people here pointed out that you can overcome this if youre resourceful. Everything else is just greed.

So by your logic, people who farm the area must waste salvage kits to profit from drops they worked for because there are people that choose not to farm or make money?

Seems like a problem that continues occurring on my vanquishes in large areas. Although I've never done DoA, I can understand your frustration.

Yes.

I choose not to farm.
But on every corner i find myself pushed into farming by the game, because i cant afford anything, not even skills.

People used to say that WoW is about grinding and farming and that GW is about skill. I find that it is vice versa right now. I have never grinded or farmed in WoW, yet ive always had just as much money as i needed. That is not the case with GW however.

Adding this would just put more pressure on people like me.

Turn a blind eye on farming = tolerable.
Encouraging farming = fail.

If you refuse to do the work, you can't complain that you recieve no reward. Nothing was ever as simple as that. You don't need to bring in useless comparisons of grinding. The only pressure you bring down on yourself is the fact that you can't afford things that would take about 20 minutes of work to get or less because you refuse to do the work. If you want everything handed to you for grasping simple concepts, I'm not going to support you on that. Sorry.

The truth is, it takes so little skill to succeed in PvE that if the system truely worked that skill was accordingly rewarded, everyone would have 10+ sets of FoW armor, hence the grind. Sorry to break your idea on that.

Seeing as money is how you buy things, and you complain about not being able to afford anything, not really.

Though I don't see how you're unable to afford things through normal campaign play. That was always enough for me to buy the essentials. Armor/a weapon/runes etc. The secret is picking up drops.

Which is what this thread is about; picking up drops. The area was not designed to be kind to our small inventory, therefore it needs a change.

Just add a crafter for the Mercantile Summoning stones. They are way too useful to appear on gifts only.

DoA runs are already ridiculously profitable as it is. As has already been mentioned, you can salvage for stackable materials (pretty sure 10 granite > 50 gold etc) and there are those Mercantile Stones. If you're running DoA and complaining about having to spend a few platinum in order to buy stones (and can one merchant summoned by one party member serve the entire party?,) then you're doing something wrong.. consets and other consumables are already common in farming runs, adding a stone wouldn't hurt. Plus it would benefit the economy for those that aren't farming elite zones all the time since the people who get the stones out of their weekly gifts will then have a market for them.

This has become unnecessary thanks to Merchantile Summoning Stones.
